Language & Cultural Immersion for Kids
MISSION
We believe ages 3-11 is the perfect time to introduce and develop new language and culture. Young learners are naturally open-minded to new ways of speaking and playing. Our goal is to expand horizons and develop tools for overcoming intercultural barriers.
PROGRAM OFFERINGS
We offer three years of programming designed to open horizons with games, rhymes, songs, and dance. Native instructors from the 21 Spanish-speaking countries facilitate cultural exchange, and proper pronunciation. Children should complete the beginning green-belt course with knowledge of Spanish for counting, days of the week, basic greetings and phrases, animals, body parts, clothing an colors.
ABOUT US
Our leader, Ivonne Gourlay, is originally from Mexico City, where she worked at a telecommunications company. Since 2020, Ivonne has combined her passion for child development with her native Spanish language skills by teaching young students. She noticed her own three girls could better “code-switch” into Spanish when they are physically active rather than sitting still. Her FunLingo program uses games, dancing, and singing to demonstrate how to best communicate in different cultures and languages.
